"Early Autumn Grays", 6 x 8, oil on linen panel
A beautiful day in Newport! It was sunny and dry but definitely feeling more like October than early September. I meant to attend the plein air event in Newport this morning but we awoke to boat issues (again)! By the time we had sorted everything out it was a little too late to go over to the Cliff Walk where the event was going on so I painted on my own this afternoon. I was drawn to all the subtle shades of gray in the rocks and the distant trees in this field sketch. There is more color in the actual painting than what is visible in the jpeg. I've got to tackle these photo issues but at least it's good to be out painting again!
