Rainy Day on the Farm, 8 x 8, pastel on sanded paper
The rain continues in the Northeast. Has it really been raining since August? I actually like rainy day scenes but it is hard to paint pastel outside in the rain. It tends to melt those expensive little sticks and warps the paper. I managed to get about half an hour of painting time to get this little field sketch done. It's a beautiful scenic farm right in Newport with lots of painting potential that I will revisit . . . when it stops raining.
